My boss asked why it was taking me so long to get reports emailed to him and I jokingly replied that it was an issue with my keyboard because I’m right-handed, but a majority of the keys I use are closer to my left hand. I thought this was a light-hearted way of responding when I clearly had no excuse for the reporting delays. The boss thought I was serious and called IT to see if he could get the problem sorted.

Whenever my boss wants to talk to our PR & Marketing Manager, he would tell his secretary to “call that Chinese manager who sits at the opposite side of the room”. Just to recap the PR person is a senior manager who writes the boss’s speeches, internal communications and basically everything with the boss’s NAME on it. Surely you can remember the name of the senior manager who sits across the room, who personally consults you on work-related matters and whom you bump into On. A. Daily. Basis.
